Privileged Communications provides business opportunities to the clients of the world’s top law firms. We enable firms to find, access and utilize connections within their organizations that were not previously discoverable. By connecting firms to each other, we enable clients to tap into a worldwide network of trusted advisors at the peak of their profession who are well-placed to find business opportunities of every type, in every industry.
The Privileged Communications Network allows attorneys (on anonymous basis) to connect their clients to each other to facilitate their business interests. We do this through software that matches concrete business opportunities (“Deals”) with companies and investors that have expressed an interest in such opportunities. When a Deal is placed on the network that matches a potential counterparty’s interest (called an “Alert”) the attorneys representing the two clients are notified. Those attorneys may then contact their clients and, if there is mutual interest, proceed to craft a non-disclosure agreement and commence negotiations. In the example here, a Chinese contract manufacturer with excess capacity is looking for new clients. A US design firm is seeking to lower its contract manufacturing costs.
Jonathan is an entrepreneur and (former) corporate lawyer. Prior to starting Privileged Communications, Jonathan was consulting with a fast-growing information technology company, helping it to identify acquisition targets as part of a broad growth strategy. Several targets were identified through attorneys, and Privileged Communications grew out of that experience. Before consulting, Jonathan worked in the financial services sector for an investment management firm focused on hedge fund investing and venture capital opportunities. Prior to his investment work, Jonathan was involved with another startup and practiced law at Paul Hastings. Jonathan has a B.A. from Tufts University, a J.D. from the University of Pennsylvania School of Law and a M.B.A. from Columbia Business School.
